The CDC is lifting masking and vaccination requirements for most of the country. Theoretically this guidance applies to 65% or so of the country.
But you know that the other 35% is going to ignore the CDC – they’re already doing it otherwise they wouldn’t be in the 35%.
Now, anyone that is even slightly smart understands that this means a lot of folks are being left to die. And, of course, there’s a lot of complaining about it.
But, I’m here to remind you that masking requirements were only implemented to prevent the collapse of the health care system.
It was NEVER because people were going to die. It was because the health-care system would be overwhelmed.
The government doesn’t really care about people’s lives all that much – their primary focus is about economics, commerce and stability.
Neither party – Democrats or Republicans – care that much about how many people die. They just don’t want anarchy and chaos as people fight over limited services.
Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of people are too dumb to realize this because, come next election, those same folks currently driving the decision to lift masking and vaccination requirements are going to be re-elected.
People are dumb. They will die. But so will the smart ones. Because there are more dumb people than smart people. So everyone is subjected to the limitations of the dumb folks who are fully in support of this decision and who really don’t care if it means that lots and lots of people will die, get long Covid and / or suffer greatly from being infected.
Not to mention the cost to society to handle the millions of long-Covid survivors over the next 30, 40, 50 years. grrr….
I perhaps should just make a prediction that we’re going to see new Covid variants that will bypass the vaccines we now have and will likely require masking to be reimplemented. Lets put a timeline on that prediction – say, within 60 – 90 days?
